Recognition.

I am really really really really happy right now. Let me tell you why.
I work at Chick-fil-A, and, to be honest, sometimes it's the only thing in Utah that keeps me sane. Eagle Mountain is
kind of a hard place to live because it's so far from everything, and I haven't been my happiest here. Luckily, working at Chick-fil-A has become a huge highlight of this year. I love my job, I love the people, the customers, I love how I feel when I'm there. It's a really good environment.
SOOO, we had a work meeting today, and all 53 employees showed up at the store around 10:30 p.m. to listen to Becky, our store owner/operator, talk to us about the business. What we can improve on, what new things are coming, etc. etc. And my name was thrown into this meeting so much.
I answered a lot of questions, so I got a lot of candy from Becky, which was cool. I knew the CORE 4, which I learned almost 9 months ago! Then we were talking about condiments in the drive thru and what we can improve on, and Jonathan (a bagger/team leader in training) said, "One person that is awesome at that is Charity. She is so efficient and exceptional at getting everything ready and I love ethat I can just but everything into the bag because she already has it ready." That was great. Jessica Rodriguez said, "Charity and Luke are really good about coming in. Charity will almost always come in to cover a shift and she is happy about it."
THEN Emma, one of the team leaders, recognized me for my excellence in the store. She talked a lot about how when I first started drive-thru I was so nervous and shaky and terrified and now I am so fast and efficient and I've come a long way. She said she knows that I will do whatever she asks of me and she doesn't have to worry about a lot of stuff because I already have it taken care of. They've given me the 6:30 a.m. shifts because of that and said I am so fast about busting and fruit and prep and things in the morning, and she was grateful about how much I help the business and so on and so forth. I got $20 as a reward for that, on top of all my candy =)
At the end of the meeting, Becky had all the graduating high school seniors stand up, there are twelve of us. She said in June, she is taking us in a limo to a really nice restaurant to congratulate us on graduating high school. This made me so happy and excited!!!
So, today was a great day. I worked out pretty much the whole day and then had this wonderful meeting. The reason I wrote it all down is so that when I'm having a bad day (they're bound to come), or if I feel unappreciated at work or whatever, I can look back at this and remember that they really do love me and also so that I can just lift my mood in general. Kudos to you, the reader, if you've made it this far.

Inspiration.

Hi there. My name is Charity.

But you can call me Char.

About two hours ago, I recieved an eleven minute phone call from a dear friend in Ohio. She told me I should start a blog, and I've taken her advice. Her name is Libby Griffioen and she's pretty amazing, so I trust her judgement.

Twenty days until I am back in my beautiful Cincinnati.

Thirty days until I graduate high school.

Four months until I'm in my wonderful Provo.

Fifteen months until my amazing big brother is home.

I'm looking forward to my future, but I'm also remembering the great.

Starting now.
Go.
